For our young and ambitious developing organisation, we are looking for a customer-focused connecting community manager who will firmly position and profile SCN in the Netherlands and abroad. Through marketing, communication and (digital) events the connection and cooperation in the field of space (but also from space to non-space and vice versa) will be strengthened and renewed. With the aim of strengthening the Space Campus community and ecosystem and stimulating campus development.
Since the position is new in the organisation, you develop from scratch, in consultation with the director and commercial program manager, and you know how to set it up successfully and carry it out effectively. You are creative and used to pioneering and entrepreneurial, using limited financial resources.
Strategic, tactical and operational
The community manager combines being a (strategic) advisor and a pragmatic connector, go-getter and organiser. In the small campus organisation, you fulfil an important role, together with the director and the commercial program manager.
Broad responsibility marketing and communication
You are broadly responsible for SCN's positioning, marketing, communication, social media, (digital) events and community building with the aim of strengthening the ecosystem and the community to make the campus more attractive to existing and new participants. You will make use of (online) platforms, events, presentations, video, podcasts, b/vlogs, storytelling and various other new (digital) marketing and communication tools.
You will profile and promote SCN and you will set the stage for the rebranding of Space Campus Noordwijk and setting up all the resources and designing and implementing the (national and international) events. In addition, you will be a star in co-marketing the many initiatives, companies and organisations that jointly form Space Campus and that strengthen the development of the campus. You will emphatically not only do this in close collaboration with these community members.
You follow developments relevant to SCN closely and respond to them smartly and effectively. You stimulate (through marketing, communication, social media and events) community building, new collaboration and open innovation and thereby strengthen the ecosystem.
You know how to visually translate what you want to initiate and are able to develop this into an attractive format. You are also able to develop and maintain communication tools, including the technical processing (e.g. in the website or a newsletter).
Collaboration and networking (approx. 50% of the function)
You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders such as key players on the Noordwijk campus, including ESA ESTEC, GRC, SBIC, Ground Station DotSpace, SCN AVATAR, Space Expo and the companies and institutions already located on the campus. You will also work closely together with the municipality, province, NSO, IQ, (LDE) universities, etc. And of course, within SCN you work very closely together with the director, the management/assistant, the commercial program manager and the LDE liaison officer Space.
With SpaceNed and NSO you work very closely together as a team when it comes to events that concern the entire Dutch Space cluster.
BACKGROUND AND PERSONALITY
For this position, we are looking for a customer-oriented, enterprising, energetic and connecting community manager with knowledge of the broad field of positioning, marketing, communication, community building and events. A solid advisor, who at the same time is strongly focused on translating ideas into reality and action.
Preferably you have worked for several years in a similar position in a starting triple helix organisation with complex stakeholder management. You have gained experience in the private sector and in collaboration with public and/or political organisations.
You have several years of experience as a strategic, tactical and operational marketing communications consultant and community manager.
Next to that you bring along:
Experience with positioning, branding and (co)marketing.
Experience with community management.
Experience with new innovative and digital forms of marketing and communication (-technique) and you are ambitious and enterprising.
Preferably experience with complex stakeholder management.
Preferably affinity with space in the broadest sense of the word and the latest high-tech developments.
Academic level of work and thinking. Your (minimum HBO) education is preferably in the direction of marketing and/or communication.
You are naturally focused on cooperation, see opportunities, take initiative and connect.
You are enterprising, curious and energetic, positive and focused on opportunities.
You are a go-getter, someone who likes to bring plans from paper to reality, a result-oriented creative all-round communicator.
You have a great sense of responsibility, you are independent, stress resistant and flexible. You like to build something out of (almost) nothing within a team.
Of course, you are communicatively strong (in several languages, but certainly in English) and a very client-focused and connecting interlocutor, and you are politically administratively sensitive.
WHAT DOES SCN OFFER?
SCN offers an independent, challenging and responsible position within a small organisation. The position offers flexibility and space with a working week of 28 to 36 hours per week.
The salary for this position amounts to a minimum of €3491, - and a maximum of €5067, - gross per month with a 36-hour working week, vacation allowance (8%) and travel allowance. You will have access to a laptop and cell phone. For the time being, this is an appointment of 1 year, after which a further career depends, among other things, on the further developments at the Campus and the appropriate job profile.
